The Cult of Lincoln

Tuesday, July 03, 2001

We just started out music unit in HAM. Mr. Long was talking about different voices and timbre and such, and he showed us samples of musical works that demonstrated some of the different styles. Then, he said that for his next sample, the pronunciation used a "double vowel" on the word "door". He mentioned that the artists weren't American, and that they actually used the word "hankerchief" (pronounced han-ker-chEEf). I leaned over to Mackenzie and said "5 bucks says it's 'She's Leaving Home' by the Beatles". I was right. I felt incredibly superior. How many people can guess a song from two words and the clue that the artists weren't from the U.S.? Booyeah.
