The first chapter of the Serenity novelization has been posted. Spoiler free -- it's backstory for the uninitiated, essentially the battle scene and "deleted scene" from the episode "Serenity".

Meanwhile, Zoe Alleyne? Why have I never heard that name mentioned? I thought her maiden name was supposed to be Warren... Also, this is the first time I've seen her name spelled quasi-canonically with the umlaut.
