I’m relatively upset. While in NY and the ensuing college visits and Martha’s Vineyard stuff, I obviously didn’t get much chance to sing. I could sing quietly to myself when surrounded by enough background noise, but I never really got to belt my lungs out, like I do at home (in my car, ha). I was incredibly cross to find that the high belt I had been working on for three months is practically gone now. Hiss! Hopefully, it will come back soon with some work, but it’s still annoying. I can’t sing along with “Bat Boy” as easily (“Inside Your Heart” is deceptively high in some places), and I have to bring most of my MAA stuff down a bit in order to sing it decently. Grrr. Back to work. Of course, the Bat Boy stuff might be irrelevant now. My aunt Janet spoke with some of the Theatre Three guys, and it’s going to play in April. The Jesuit spring show is early May. I’m praying that Theatre Three rehearsals are held at some bizarre time so that they wouldn’t conflict, but I doubt if that’s going to happen. While “Bat Boy” is one of my favourite musicals, I love Mrs. Felice, and I wouldn’t want to desert her. Stupid moral dillemas.
Meanwhile, my Fall/Winter theatre season looks promising, as Mrs. Glaros has organized an easily manageable schedule for “Dido and Aeneas”. I’m waiting for Mrs. Felice to call me back regarding the Jesuit fall production, but I don’t imagine it will conflict with anything. Spring will be the real challenge.
