Brenna is loffy, for she gives me pretty artness. Gotta love sheet!Angua. I think every single Discworld fanartist eventually draws it. (And she also has a Bat Boy icon, which is not to be sneezed at.)
I am officially declaring tomorrow Photography Day. I’m going to go out and really learn how to use the new camera I got for my birthday (::schnoogles Otto::) and play around with my mom’s Holga, which I believe has never been used. Poor Mark will be untouched. But he knows I loff him, so he hopefully won’t feel sad.
I need to name our Holga. “Mark” is named for the photographer from RENT, and “Otto” is named for the Vampire iconographer from The Truth (and a slight pun on “auto”, as it has the ability to go fully automatic). Perhaps “Colin”, from Harry Potter? Can anyone think of any other fictional photographers deserving of name schnoogles?
And I still haven’t named my tablet. Shame.

Dear Dr. Woody: I love Valentines Day, but I have no idea how this wonderful holiday came about, signed Wondering
Dear Wonderer: There are many misconceptions about the origins of Valentines Day and I’m glad for the opportunity to set the record straight. About 1500 years ago in Budapest, Hungary, the Baroness Ophelia Valentine was courted and pursued by a young and handsome Count from Romania. The Count desperately wanted to win the heart of the Baroness Valentine so he brought her all manners of gifts. And, though she enjoyed the gifts, her heart would warm for only a short time and again grow cold. Year after year the Count brought her lavish gifts which were received, enjoyed, but soon discarded. Until one day, in an act of utter frustration, the young Count ripped out his own beating heart and handed it to the Baroness, proclaiming “There! Now are you satisfied!” The Baroness was then pleased and very much satisfied, but immediately asked the young Count what he was going to bring her next year. The young Count Dracula of Romania was driven to insanity, and as legend has it, though heartless, refused to die, and instead took to roaming the countryside in search of fresh human hearts with which he could forever please his Baroness. Valentines Day was originally a day to honor the strength and dedication of Dracula’s love. Unfortunately, Dracula’s search for human flesh was misinterpreted by the local population and while they kept the holiday of love, they buried the true story behind the Valentines Day celebration… Happy Valentines Day!!!!
For Yoga class in P.E. (har! I love my school!), our assignment was to go outside tonight for five minutes and look at the full moon, then write 400+ words about it. Fun. Especially because outside, it’s currently 40’F (can’t be bothered with finding the degree symbol), with a windchill of 31. That’s 4.5’C and -1’C for you metric ladies out there. The kicker: there was no moon. An impenetrable blanket of thick, grey couds obscured everything, rendering us moonless. But it was v. pretty, so all was fine. I trooped inside, got my camera, and shot a roll of 3200-speed b&w of the tree branches against the sky, house lights, and the occasional passing car. Due to the film speed and my one-second exposures at f3, something will hopefully come out. Meh. I wish they made color 3200, because that would be nifty. ::nods::
