Forgive me for being dense, but what is the significance of the title of tonight’s Veronica Mars episode? I presume it has something to do with (or takes its title from the same source as) this?
*snerks* In the wake of Proposition 2, I find this revelation somewhat entertaining.
And I have no idea what this means or what algorithms went into coming up with this number, but it’s fun:
My blog is worth $1,129.08.
How much is your blog worth?
Neil Gaiman’s, meanwhile, is “worth” $864,875.28. XD
Does anyone know if the new Lost podcast is on iTunes? I’m too lazy to get a real podcatcher.
Also: Ah. So that’s what that thing is. I love how my main cue to shifts in nerd culture trends is LiveJournal icons.
Good gravy I love Joss Whedon. There were maybe three seconds of time spent reading this entry that I wasn’t laughing out loud. Just ask Ko!
Watch Veronica Mars tonight, people!
No way! Not two days ago, I was making some silly comment in another’s LJ, and I wanted to use a word that may-or-may-not-be-a-real-word (you know the type) meaning “having to do with dreams”. Like “constabulatory” or “arboreal” (though arboreal is definitely a real word. Shut up.)
Anyway, through the great kung fu of Google, I found the word “oneiric“, which I immediately declared the coolest word I had heard that day, but in the context I was wanting to use it, I didn’t think the definition came across well enough, so I took the comment in a different direction.
Today’s Dictionary.com Word of the Day: oneiric.
This reminds me of when I was taking an SAT prep course, and in an entire verbal section, the only word I didn’t know was “hedonism.” The next day, I was reading Pratchett’s Sourcery, and Conina is trying to remember a word beginning with “h”. Rincewind guesses “Hedonism?”. I immediately cracked up, and all my fellow students–who I was trying to make a good impression on so I wouldn’t be friendless, and who already thought I was lame and geekish because I used the word “extrapolate” in cold blood–just stared.
Mmm, “oneiric” and “hedonism”. I think the world is telling me to luxuriate and enjoy myself and go back to sleep. Good idea, world.
Today I am embarrassed to be a Texan.
Kansas gets 2nd prize, if you can call it that.
New Lost and Veronica Mars tomorrow tonight, whee!
On UPN’s website, they have the following mini-summary: “Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy, makes his acting debut on the next Veronica Mars.” UPN, DO THE DANCE OF SHAME. Acting debut, pfft.
Meanwhile, how did it get to be 2AM? I’d forgotten how insanely addictive modeling is. And I just taught myself how to use NURBS! Oh, NURBS, how I love thee! Where have you been all my life?
Stupid sleep. Doesn’t my body recognize that there is coolness to be pursued?
Just voted. I wish I’d registered in Texas so that I could have absentee voted against Proposition 2, as there wasn’t anything of comparable significance on the Pennsylvania ballot. I can only hope that stupid people stay away from the polls today, though it seems too much to ask.
Meanwhile, is it shallow of me to really, really want someone named “Pedro” to run in a high-profile election?
Forget to remember
The fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason, and plot
I see few reasons
Why gunpowder, treasons
Should ever be forgot,
But one of them is upcoming midterms.
Reefer Madness — The Movie Musical (starring Alan Cumming and Veronica Mars Kristen Bell) and Greg Edmonson’s long-awaited Firefly soundtrack are out today! If you haven’t seen Reefer Madness, do so now! It’s one of my favourite musicals, even eclipsing Bat Boy in my heart. And if you haven’t seen Firefly yet, I wash my hands of you. You are no longer my brother.
