I had this weird dream last night that I was playing Mimi on Broadway. Another girl from my school was in the production as well, but I can’t remember who. I knew my lines perfectly, but I didn’t know about my stage directions for “Happy New Year”, so I was hopelessly confuzzled. Then the girl who played Angel (yes, it was a girl) was having some weird problems with her voice, and Today4U was terrible. Then in another song, because she didn’t think her voice was very strong that night, she lip-synced to another of the songs! I wanted to yell at her that the words on the tape we were singing along with weren’t nearly loud enough and that she HAD to sing, but my mic was on and I couldn’t say anything without being heard by hundreds of people. Then I recognized her as being one of the actresses from Liz’s play when she turned up in a tweed suit for “La Vie Boheme”. For some weird reason, we all had to wear these evil harnesses, and mine kept getting stuck and I couldn’t run anywhere. Weirdness. Then in between acts 1 and 2, my school friend and I walked onto the stage to see if we could recognize any audience members. I first spotted one of my friends from Explo, this evil summer camp at Wellesly, then I saw Julia Tucker-Huth and her mother. I have absolutely nothing against Julia; she’s a great friend, but I think my subconscious (major sp) has a grudge on her for beating me out for the lead role in The Music Man. She usually has really long hair, but in the dream, she had the same haircut as that weird white haired girl from Farscape. Freaky-looking, yo. Then instead of being in the audience, SHE was up next to me. Her mom kept cheering for Julia, even though she knew I was standing right next to her. I waved, but no one in the entire audience waved back. Julia waved, and about 50 people waved back. Then I woke up.
